Important
points to be taken care of, for higher efficiency:
1.
Air Filter: It should be cleaned at least once a week. Wash the filter
with water not exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. A mild detergent can be used.
Slide the filter back after ensuring that it is completely dry, i.e., moisture
free. In case filter is not cleaned & remains clogged with dust, the air
flow will reduce & the cooling capacity will get affected.
2.
Use of efficient Voltage Stabilizer with Air conditioner to withstand
the incoming voltage fluctuations. Range of stabilizer should be 180 to 270
volts. This will ensure proper voltage supply to Air conditioner.
3.
Cleaning of condenser & evaporator coils at the beginning of each
cooling season. Clean the coils with the blower. Coils have aluminium fins
with sharp edges. Care should be taken to avoid injury. Care should also be
exercised not to flatten fins, as this will reduce airflow & capacity.
4.
Check the wiring of the unit, if the unit is starting for the first
time after prolonged shut down. In case of split type unit, check the wiring
between the indoor unit & outdoor unit. Ensure that there will not be
any loose connections or any cut over the wires. Also check that proper
insulation should be there on the suction line (over the cold pipe coming
from indoor unit to outdoor unit).
5.
Use of Curtains or blinds across the glass windows. It will ensure
less heat transfer across the windows.
6.
When the unit is in running condition, the doors and windows should be
closed, as much as possible. It will help in achieving more cooling in
the room.
7.
Check that Thermostat sensor should not touch the cooling coil directly.
It should be placed over a clamp.
8.
Over a period of time, some dust is bound to accumulate on the front grill.
Wipe the grill thoroughly with soft dry cloth.
9.
The main reasons for frosting in the unit are :-
1) Less air flow - 1. Due to clogged filter - Clean it
a) Low voltage - Use stabilizer
b) Dusty front grille - Clean it.
2)
Unit undercharged- Charge the unit with required amount of refrigerant.
